About

What should we do about climate change? What should our immigration policies be? How should we design the tax code? Public issues like these cannot be well thought about, written about, or dealt with without bringing together philosophy, politics, and economics; for they exist at the intersection of politics and economics, and they are inherently normative questions that belong to the domain of philosophy. The major in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law, or PPEL, provides an interdisciplinary course of study that equip our students to think, write, and advocate well in all such questions of law and public policy.

Your support provides invaluable resources for mentoring, guest lectures, internships, and other initiatives that enable us to put our students on the path to engaged citizenship and meaningful careers in law, public service, NGOs, and enterprises that exist at the public-private intersection.
