About

Thank you for supporting Sustainability at the University of Richmond!

Renewable energy. The Sustainability Minor. The Eco-Corridor. Our campus, our classrooms, and our culture are all influenced by sustainability efforts at University of Richmond. Faculty, staff, and students across UR are finding new ways to add sustainable perspectives to the classroom and reduce our collective impact on the world around us.

Your donation gives us the means to support these innovations on campus. Thank you so much for supporting Sustainability at the University of Richmond and fostering a better future of our world and the future of our students.

Amounts:

$10 - Establish a Rain Garden
Rain gardens are essential for maintaining healthy water quality, as well as preventing runoff onto the Eco-Corridor. Establishing a rain garden will keep stormwater off of our path and prevent pollutants from entering the James River.

$25 - Build a Purple Martin Birdhouse
Purple martins are a type of bird that require hollow trees or human-made structures for housing. By donating to Sustainability, you can help bring a new bird species to the Eco-Corridor!

$50 - Add Benches to the Eco-Corridor
Stop, sit, and stay a while! Help us bring more comfortable seating locations to the Eco-Corridor. Seating will be placed along the trail, as well as in quieter, off-trail locations within the corridor.

$100 - Plant a Native Tree on Campus
Our volunteers have been busy over the last few months removing invasive species from the Eco-Corridor! Now, we need to replace those areas with native plants to ensure invasive plants don’t grow back. Native plants like coneflower and Virginia bluebells greatly increase wildlife biodiversity and provide food and shelter for local wildlife.

$200 - Bring Ba-a-a-ck the Goats!
Invasive species don’t take a break, so neither can we. Goatscaping is a very sustainable way to get overgrown areas under control. Goats are quiet, efficient, and don’t produce any plastic or industrial waste — just healthy fertilizer to help native plants grow! And they are without a doubt the cutest landscaping option out there.
