Enrolling, educating, and graduating talented, hardworking students, regardless of their ability to pay, is central to the University of Richmond's mission. We're one of very few U.S. institutions that combine need-blind admission with a guarantee to meet 100 percent of demonstrated need for traditional undergraduate applicants.
Thirty-six percent of our undergraduates are eligible for need-based aid, with an average award of $60,740. The office of financial aid works one-on-one with each of them to develop a financial aid package tailored to their situation.
During the 2023-24 academic year:
- 65% of undergraduates received some type of aid totaling $90M
- $30M in donor-funded aid and scholarships awarded annually
- Eligible undergrads received an average need-based award equal to 97% of tuition
Plus, Virginians with parental income of $75,000 or less receive full scholarships.
Richmond is only able to offer this top-tier level of support through the generosity of our past and present alumni, families, and friends. We hope you will join them in supporting this vital endeavor.
